Heart on a Suitcase and beyond…
The inaugural Heart on a Suitcase Tour has ended, and what a long, strange trip it’s been! I’m currently enjoying a stint at the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival, so you can find me here until the end of September, but if you’re hankering for some tunes, you can check out several of our performances on my YouTube channel (see Favorites) and Shane’s YouTube channel along with some hilarious updates from the road. I’ve also been featured as “Artist of the Moment” on Starliners Radio, so feel free to visit them and give “Danger Signs” a spin! There are a few autumn shows in the works, including some down south. Can’t wait!
Thank you all for your support on this incredible journey, and remember to keep in touch!

Update!
I just finished out a lovely week of songwriting and cavorting with the talented Shane Cooley in the Northern Neck of Virginia, and have finally made it back to the Big Apple. I have lots of northeastern shows coming up, mostly in the city, but Shane and I are working on our Heart on a Suitcase Tour in New England for late July and August and I’ll have those dates up soon. Make sure you make it out to our live shows: we’ve got some great new material to share, and we know you guys will love it.
Tracks from Space To Be Free have been added to rotation on several stations in the Midwest and Europe, and I was recently featured on the VENTS Music Podcast, so make sure to show them some support. And as always, you can still pick up Space To Be Free on iTunes. Thanks, guys!

… are going to be nuts.
This week I completed the artwork for my new album “I Don’t Believe You” and submitted my masters to manufacturing. Strangely, I found that a very difficult thing to do. I’ve spent the last 12 months of my life writing the album, tens of thousands of dollars recording it,…

This place looks like a postcard.
In every direction. Gold Canyon, AZ : where all the plants either kill or hurt you. Not to make the place sound dire; the weather is warm, the sky is so vast it’s not to be believed, and there’s an abundance of rabbits near my campsite that will come up and walk beside me like we’re old friends. I look out in the morning and see the Superstition Mountains outlined in rows against the sky: red, yellow, green, and purple. It’s all very surreal, on a daily basis. That being said, I am long overdue for a blog entry.
It was quite a journey driving here from Miami, but I had the good fortune of playing a gig almost every night on the way. Mobile, AL was a pleasant surprise. I played with a band called The Vespers ( http://thevespersband.com ) that totally blew me away. If you don’t know who they are, you should. They tour constantly and are some of the greatest new folk songwriters I’ve heard. I wasn’t sure what to expect in Texas, but after playing in Houston, Austin, and Arlington, I was sold. In fact, I think I’d get along just fine hanging out in Austin for a long while. It reminded me of home.
I passed through Roswell, NM on my way here and it didn’t really meet my expectations. It felt worn out and smelled like manure, or maybe some kind of processing plant. It needs a bath and a new wardrobe… But the museums and shops were amusing at least and intriguing at best. Aliens, hmm… :)
Arizona has been a friendly place so far. The locals love the ren faire people more than anywhere else I’ve been. I imagine life around here is pretty uneventful until all of us come to town for two months. I managed to book a coffeehouse gig next week in Tempe ( http://bit.ly/hOFIP6 ), which I am very much looking forward to. I always love playing in a new context, and it’s been very exciting seeing the country and playing for so many different audiences. I look forward to doing it again with my EP in hand!
There are a few new songs in the works but lack of power/facilities has kept me from recording them for you all. I’ll see what I can scrounge up for you, though. I’d like to have something new posted before I leave Arizona!

Joie de Vivre
I’m sitting in a coffeeshop in Hammond, LA right now listening to… Kenny G (?)… on satellite radio. I’ve been down here about a week now, and things have been pretty out of this world. Still living in a tent, though I’ve upgraded to a six sleeper (almost like having a Korean apartment, heehaw), and I’ve got electricity down here which is phenomenal. The weather is beautiful, almost like summertime, and the local folks are friendly. So far, other than the work itself, I’ve been having a swell time hanging out with my dog, who I am so happy to be reunited with, and I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying campfire parties listening to some brilliant musicians and songwriters, a wine and cheese tasting at the gorgeous home of two inspired patrons of the arts, and the company of some of my favorite performers and just generally awesome, down-to-earth people in the midst of their own adventures.
I wake up every morning feeling blessed to be exactly where I am, doing exactly what I’m doing. I still can’t believe all of this is real sometimes. If nothing else, this mad ride across the east coast has at least served to renew my joie de vivre, and make me appreciate every day and every person I meet along the way. Also makes me wonder when (or if) I’ll be coming back down to earth. :)
